Valérie Gauvin

Valérie Gauvin joined Everton in August 2020, penning a three-year deal with the Blues after signing from Montpellier.

She hit eight goals in 20 appearances during her maiden season with Everton – and netted in the Toffees' 3-1 extra-time FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

Gauvin's impressive technique, link-up play and aerial ability consistently impressed during the campaign. She would surely have registered more goals in 2020/21 but saw her game time reduced due to a muscle injury.

A regular in the France national team, Gauvin was part of the side which reached the quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup before losing to eventual winners USA – and was on target in the host country’s last-16 victory over Brazil.

Gauvin scored 14 goals in 16 appearances for top-flight Montpellier in the curtailed 2019/20 domestic campaign.

She spent six years with Montpellier after joining aged 18 from Toulouse, where she graduated from the club’s youth team.

An Under-20 World Cup finalist with France in 2016, Gauvin scored her goals at a rate of more than one every two games for Montpellier.
