Elijah Campbell

Manchester-born Elijah Campbell joined Everton aged 13 and is a current England Under-18 international.

Capable of operating at centre-half or left-back, he is a composed and athletic defender who is comfortable in possession.

In a 2020/21 season disrupted by injury, Campbell still managed 11 league appearances and shone in the Toffees' run to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals. He earned manager Paul Tait's praise for exemplary performances in Everton's exceptional wins over Manchester City and Chelsea.

While still featuring on occasion for Everton Under-18s the following season – where he captained Tait's team – his progress saw him rewarded with a promotion to the Blues' Under-23 side.

Campbell made 16 Premier League 2 appearances and, as well as regularly showcasing his defensive qualities, he also chipped in with two goals, scoring in home wins over Leeds United and Arsenal.

Having trained during parts of the 2021/22 campaign with the Senior Team, Campbell was rewarded for his progress with his first professional contract in June 2022, signing a three-year deal.

The 2022/23 season saw Campbell become a regular for Everton Under-21s, making 23 Premier League 2 appearances, while also featuring three times in the EFL Trophy.

Campbell’s chosen pre-match meal is jerk chicken, rice and peas and, when he’s not playing football, he enjoys basketball.
