Charlie Whitaker

Charlie Whitaker joined Everton since aged 12 having previously been at Blackburn Rovers.

He made a full Under-18 debut shortly before the 2019/20 campaign was curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

And in 2020/21 – after signing a three-year professional contract in September 2020 – Whitaker pieced together the finest season of his embryonic career to claim the Club's Under-18 Player of the Season prize.

He scored against Blackburn on the opening day and maintained his tremendous form to win promotion to the Under-23 team in the season's closing weeks.

Whitaker made an instant impression at the older age-group level, scoring a final-day hat-trick in a 4-0 defeat of Southampton to end with five goals from four starts.

The teenage striker's progress was rewarded with a place in the Everton First Team's travelling party to the USA for the 2021 pre-season Florida Cup tournament.

He made his first senior Everton appearance as the Blues beat Mexican outfit Pumas in Orlando, coming on a second-half substitute at Camping World Stadium.

Buoyed by his First-Team experience, Whitaker kicked off the 2021/22 season in impressive fashion for Everton Under-23s - hitting three goals in the young Blues' opening six Premier League 2 games.

In total, Whitaker made 15 Premier League 2 appearances for Everton Under-23s in 2021/22, scoring five goals.

He was named in a Senior-Team Premier League squad for the first time in October 2021, as Everton drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Able to operate on both wings and up front, he sees his dribbling, assists, awareness and goalscoring as his main strengths.

He made seven goal contributions in 11 Premier League 2 appearances during the 2022/23 season.

Whitaker’s favourite players include Cristiano Ronaldo and Eden Hazard, and his hobbies are golf and fishing.

In November 2022, Whitaker signed a new three-year-deal with the Toffees until the end of June 2025.

His preferred pre-match meal is a cheese and bacon omelette, and he enjoys listening to Drake.

Contracted until: June 2025
