Poppy Pattinson

Everton completed the signing of full-back Poppy Pattinson in summer 2020 after the England Under-21 international left Bristol City following the end of her contract.

Left-back Pattinson, who has also represented her country at Under-17 and Under-19 levels, agreed a two-year deal and joined an Everton team aiming to build on a promising 2019/20 WSL campaign.

The Wearsider started her senior career with Sunderland and spent 2017/18 at Manchester City where she helped the club’s development team to double success in the FA WSL Academy League Northern Division and Development League Cup.

Pattinson came to Everton following two seasons with WSL rivals Bristol City and followed the path of Blues captain Lucy Graham, who transferred from the West Country 12 months earlier.

In her debut season with the Toffees, Pattinson made 16 appearances in all competitions. She came on as a substitute at Wembley in the 2019/20 FA Cup final in November 2020, when Everton were narrowly beaten after extra-time by Manchester City.

The full-back netted her first goal for the Club in April 2021, tapping home an equaliser against Durham in a FA Cup fourth-round tie.

The young defender went onto make 17 appearances in the WSL the following season, playing at times alongside fellow full-back Dan Turner further up the field on the left side.

Pattinson also enjoyed regular call-ups for Mo Marley’s Lionesses Under-23s side over the course of the 2021/22 season.

Contracted until: June 2022
