Abbey-Leigh Stringer

England Under-23s international Abbey-Leigh Stringer arrived at Everton from Birmingham City in the summer of 2018.

A technically-gifted midfielder who boasts impressive vision and strength, Stringer made her Blues debut in a Continental Cup tie at Durham. She went on to make 16 appearances during her debut campaign.

The 2019/20 season saw Stringer solidify her status as an important member of Willie Kirk's squad. She played 15 matches before the season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic and helped Everton achieve a sixth-place WSL finish.

She penned a new two-year contract with Everton in summer 2020.

In a 2020/21 season played without supporters, Stringer represented the Blues 14 times in the WSL and registered one assist as the Toffees finished fifth in table.

The midfielder also made an appearance as the Blues contested the FA Cup final at Wembley in November 2020, coming off the bench in the first half of extra-time.

The Nuneaton-born midfielder begun her career with Birmingham, enjoying a loan spell at neighbours Aston Villa in 2015.

She helped Birmingham reach the finals of both of the Continental Cup and FA Women's Cup during her time with City, before linking up with Everton.

With England, she has represented the Lionesses at Under-17, Under-19, Under-20 and under-23 level. She was part the Lionesses team that reached the final of the European Under-19 Championships in 2013.

Contracted until: June 2022
