Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah

Merseyside-born Everton Academy graduate Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah was drafted into the first team in 2013 aged 17.

A skilful and direct attacker, she bagged her first goal for the seniors in a 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Capped at Under-19s level with England, successive cruciate knee ligament injuries then frustrated her efforts but she returned to the squad as an unused sub for the final game of the Spring Series against London Bees in May 2017.

She made her return to the fold in the Blues’ second game of the WSL season against Birmingham City in 2017/18. Across the season, she featured at right-back on a number of occasions and further forward, making a total of 18 appearances.

Boye-Hlorkah continued to grow in stature during the 2018/19 season, thriving under the tutelage of new boss Willie Kirk. She made a total of 20 appearances, scoring three goals.

She also impressed during the 2019/20 season - playing 15 times and helping the Blues achieve a sixth-place WSL finish - and saw her progress recognised with the offer of a new one-year contract, which she signed in June 2020.

Boye-Hlorkah played 16 matches for the Toffees in 2020/21 and came on as a substitute in Everton's extra-time FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

It was confirmed in June 2021 that the forward would leave Everton after 16 years with the Club. Everton boss Willie Kirk paid tribute to Boye-Hlorkah upon the announcement, commenting: "Chantelle has been an important part of my time here so far, and I want to thank her and wish her all the best for the future.

"I really enjoyed working with her and getting to know her as a person.  She is a Blue through and through and it was evident every day in training how much the Club means to her.

"I know that she will want to return to the Club one day and complete some unfinished business.”
