Mackenzie Hunt

Versatile left-sided player Mackenzie Hunt boasts a potent combination of excellent technique, impressive energy and competitive fire.

He joined Everton's Academy aged six, before moving to Dubai with his family after his father was offered a new job in the Middle East. He returned to Everton aged 13 and continued to impress at youth level.

Hunt was part of the Everton Under-18s team that finished third in the U18 Premier League (North) in 2018/19 and reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup.

He also won the Under-18s’ Goal of the Season prize for his stunning long-range effort in the Toffees’ Youth Cup victory over Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

The midfielder saw his progress rewarded as he signed a three-year professional contract with Everton in June 2019.

Having impressed during his first pre-season with Everton Under-23s that summer, a serious injury restricted Hunt to just two Premier League 2 appearances in 2019/20.

Hunt started twice and appeared from the bench six times in the Under-23s' following 2020/21 campaign.

He made a further 10 Premier League 2 appearances in 2021/22 and penned a new one-year contract in June 2022.

The following year saw Hunt feature 18 times in the league for Paul Tait’s Under-21s, as well as making five EFL Trophy appearances.

Outlining his versatility, Hunt operated across the field, including at left-back, left-wing, and central-midfield.

In June 2023, Hunt picked up the Premier League 2 Goal of the Season award for his volley against Braga Under-21s earlier on in the campaign.
