Joe Anderson

Stalybridge-born Anderson joined Everton at the age of 15.

Having previously played as a left-sided midfielder and left-back, Anderson moved to centre-half while playing for Everton Under-18s during the 2018/19 campaign.

He excelled in that position, helping Paul Tait's team achieve a third-place finish in the U18 Premier League (North) and reach the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup.

The defender saw his development rewarded as he signed a first professional contract at Everton in summer 2019, penning a two-year deal until the end of June 2021.

Anderson began to establish himself in the Everton Under-23s squad in 2019/20 and the following season was a regular starter, making 20 appearances in all and scoring once, in his first game of the season, a 4-1 home success against Derby County.

He was a regular starter in 2021/22, too, showcasing his versatility as he seamlessly switched between playing at centre-back and left-back depending on his team's needs. He scored his only goal of the season in a 2-1 defeat against Leicester City in February 2022.

In July 2022, Anderson signed a new two-year contract with Everton to keep him at the Club until the end of June 2024.

Contracted until: June 2024
