Arnaut Danjuma became Everton's second signing of the 2023 summer transfer window, completing a season-long loan switch from Villarreal in July.
Danjuma, an attacker who can play on the wing or as a central striker, was born in Lagos, Nigeria, before moving to the Netherlands at an early age and beginning his football journey with second-tier side TOP Oss as a youngster.
In 2008, Danjuma, aged 11, joined PSV Eindhoven's esteemed academy, spending eight years there before departing for Jong PSV and then NEC Nijmegen, where he would make his first-team breakthrough.
Expecting to play in NEC's reserve team upon joining, he went on to make his senior debut on 10 September 2016 as a late substitute in a clash with former side PSV.
After two eye-catching years in the Netherlands, Danjuma headed to Belgium with Club Brugge, where the pacy forward would make his Champions League bow in the competition's group stages.
His first Champions League goal came in a 3-1 away defeat to Atletico Madrid in October 2018.
On 1 August 2019, Danjuma joined Premier League side Bournemouth for a fee of £13.7million.
A fractured foot hampered his maiden season in England but, after Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship, he helped the Cherries reach the playoffs in his second campaign, scoring 15 goals in 35 matches.
Danjuma was named Bournemouth's Player of the Season for 2020/21, beating former Blues goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who finished runner-up in the club vote.
The Dutchman's superb form caught the eye of a number of suitors that summer, with La Liga outfit Villarreal eventually winning the race for his signature in a deal reported to be worth in the region of €25million.

Danjuma enjoyed a productive first term in Spain, getting off the mark in front of goal in a 1-1 draw against reigning champions Atletico Madrid in August, before netting his maiden hat-trick for the club in a 4-1 win over Granada in February and scoring both goals in a derby victory over Valencia in April.
He also netted six Champions League goals that season, including a brace in a 3-2 triumph at Atalanta to put the Yellow Submarine into the last 16 as group runners-up, and a goal against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the quarter-final.
Danjuma, a practising Muslim, spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored two goals in 12 outings.
A full Netherlands international, Danjuma made his debut for Oranje in October 2018 and to date has amassed six senior caps, scoring twice.
