Central midfielder Alex Denny was handed a senior Everton debut aged 17 when he was introduced as a late substitute in the Blues' 3-0 Europa League group stage victory over Apollon Limassol in Cyprus on 7 December 2017.
The teenager muscled his way into David Unsworth's Under-23 squad in 2017-18 and at the conclusion of the campaign was rewarded for his progress with a fresh two-year deal.
The talented youngster saw his efforts frustrated by a foot injury in 2018-19, which he suffered on the eve of the young Blues’ opening-day Premier League 2 clash at Chelsea. The injury kept Denny out until the new year and – as David Unsworth's team stormed to league and cup glory – the 19-year-old was restricted to a series of substitute appearances as he continued his battle back to optimum fitness.
Denny has played for England at Under-17 and Under-18 levels - and was part of the young Lions team which reached the final of the European Under-17 Championship in 2017.
Contracted until: June 2020
