Sara Rosted Holmgaard signed for Everton in August 2022 from German club Turbine Potsdam on a two-year deal until June 2024.
The defender moved to Merseyside alongside her twin sister Karen after the two impressed when previously working with manager Brian Sørensen at Fortuna Hjørring.
Holmgaard has won the Elitedivisionen (17/18) and the Danish Women’s Cup (2019).
Internationally, she has represented Denmark from the Under-16s through to the Under-23s before making her debut for the senior side in February 2019.
Sara spent the first half of the 2022/23 season on loan at her former club Fortuna Hjørring where she made 16 appearances and scored two goals.
Upon her return to England, she was given her Everton debut from the bench in a 3-2 win over Reading in January 2023.
Two weeks later, Sara and Karen played alongside each other in an Everton shirt for the first time in a FA Cup match against Birmingham City.
