Jenson Metcalfe

An energetic and technically-proficient central-midfield player, Jenson Metcalfe joined Everton at the age of five.

The Wigan-born youngster broke into broke into the Everton Under-18s side midway through the 2020/21 campaign and swiftly cemented a spot in boss Paul Tait’s team.

Metcalfe made his Under-23s debut in April 2021 – playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 Premier League 2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion – and saw his progress rewarded with a first professional contract, which he signed five months later.

After a stunning effort in the young Blues' 3-0 win over West Ham, Metcalfe was awarded the club’s 2021 Goal of the Month for October.

Spain and Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets is Metcalfe's football idol.

In September 2022, Metcalfe signed a new four-year Everton deal until the end of June 2026.
