Oviedo Own Goal Confirmed

Swansea City’s equaliser in their 2-1 defeat to Everton last month has been officially confirmed as a Bryan Oviedo own goal.

Dwight Tiendalli’s effort took a significant deflection off the Costa Rican on its path past Tim Howard at the Liberty Stadium.

The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel have now ruled that the 70th-minute strike be credited against Oviedo.

The own goal cancelled out Seamus Coleman’s opener, though the Blues went on to record maximum points thanks to Ross Barkley’s late free-kick.

Oviedo has found the net at the right end of the pitch twice for Everton this season – in the back-to-back victories against Stoke City and Manchester United towards the end of 2013.

Thomas keeleyOwn goal or not, hes a cracking player and would feel bit better now if bains decides to move to a lower positioned team with moyes. Best LB pair in the prem
