Keane Helps England Qualify For World Cup

England booked their place at the World Cup in Russia after seeing off Slovenia.

With Jordan Pickford on the bench and Michael Keane introduced late on, Gareth Southgate’s charges snatched a last, gasp victory courtesy of Harry Kane’s added time strike.

England were already going through thanks to Scotland’s 1-0 win over Slovakia, but Kane’s late intervention meant they have reached the finals this summer.

Next up for the Three Lions is a trip to Lithuania on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Nikola Vlasic played 77 minutes of Croatia Under-21s’ extraordinary come-from-behind victory over Belarus.

Trailing 1-0 going into added time, goals from Lorenco Śimić then Filip Benković in the final three minutes turned the game on it’s head and earned Croatia the win.

Nathan Broadhead also tasted success on Thursday night as he played 74 minutes of Wales Under-21s’ 3-1 win over Liechtenstein.

And finally, Harry Charsley was in action for Republic of Ireland as they drew 0-0 with Norway.
