Besic Poised For Middlesbrough Loan Switch

Muhamed Besic is set to complete a loan move to Middlesbrough – and will spend the remainder of the season with the Championship club subject to Football League clearance.

The Bosnia international midfielder joined Everton from Hungarian team Ferencvaros in summer 2014 and has played 56 matches in his three-and-a-half years with the Blues.

Besic did not feature in the 2016/17 campaign after sustaining a serious knee injury in a pre-season fixture with Manchester United.

He returned to action in the Toffees’ Europa League qualifying victory over Hajduk Split at Goodison Park back in August.

The 25-year-old has appeared eight times for Everton this season – most recently in the Europa League win at Apollon Limassol on 7 December.

Besic will join a Middlesbrough side on the cusp of the Championship’s play-off places and could potentially feature for Tony Pulis’ team when they face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.
