Loan Watch: Leban Earns Farsley Celtic Clean Sheet

It was another busy weekend of football for Everton loanees in action for their temporary clubs. Here is an overview of how our players performed in this week’s Loan Watch... 

Zan-Luk Leban – Farsley Celtic  
Opponent: Southport (H), Spennymoor Town (A)
Competition: National League North
Date: Saturday 29 March, Monday 1 April   
Result: 0-0 draw, 3-1 defeat
Overview: Farsley secured a clean sheet over the Easter weekend as Farsley Celtic were held to a goalless draw to Southport. 

However, his side were unable to build upon that performance as they were beaten 3-1 by ninth placed Spennymoor Town. 

Kenzie Weir – Glasgow City  
Opponent: Celtic (H)
Competition: Scottish Women's Premier League
Date: Sunday 31 March   
Result: 2-1 loss
Overview: Weir’s Glasgow City were dealt a blow in their title race as they suffered a home 2-1 defeat to Celtic on Sunday.

Weir completed a 90 minute display against Celtic whom are managed by former Everton Academy coach, Elena Sadiku. The visitors led courtesy of goals from Caitlin Hayes and Natasha Flint. City were able to pull a goal back on 90 minutes through Carlee Giammona, but it came too late for the Petershill Park outfit.

The result leaves City three points adrift of Celtic in second and four points away from Rangers at the top of the table.

Elijah Campbell – Fleetwood Town  
Opponent: Cheltenham (H), Oxford United (A)
Competition: League One
Date: Friday 29 March, Monday 1 April 
Result: 2-1 defeat, 4-0 defeat
Overview: Campbell returned from injury to start for Fleetwood Town for their narrow 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham. The defender managed to complete a 90 minute display and started for Monday's meeting with Oxford United as well. 

Mason Holgate - Sheffield United
Opponent: Fulham (H)
Competition: Premier League
Date: Saturday 30 March
Result: 3-3 draw
Overview: Holgate's Sheffield United were denied their fourth league win of the season as visitors Fulham scored a late double to snatch a point at Bramall Lane. The defender returned from suspension to start for the Blades and completed Saturday's Premier League encounter. 

Neal Maupay – Brentford
Opponent: Manchester United (H)
Competition: Premier League
Date: Saturday 30 March   
Result: 1-1 draw
Overview: Maupay was introduced late into Saturday's match, with the game goalless when the forward came on after 86 minutes.

There was late drama as United had thought they had secured all three points with Mason Mount's strike six minutes deep into stoppage time. However, three minutes later Kristoffer Ajer slotted home for the second consecutive match to rescue a point at the Community Stadium.

Sean McAllister – Inverness Caledonian Thistle  
Opponent: Partick Thistle (A)
Competition: Scottish Championship
Date: Saturday 30 March   
Result: 1-0 defeat
Overview: McAllister missed his fourth consecutive game as he recovers from a thigh injury. It could be a month until the midfielder returns to action. 

Harry Tyrer – Chesterfield    
Opponent: York City (A), Kidderminster Harriers (H)
Competition: National League
Date: Friday 29 March, Monday 1 April
Result: 2-1 loss, 3-1 loss
Overview: After securing the National League title on Saturday 23 March against Boreham Wood, Harry Tyrer was rested from the Chesterfield squad for their Easter weekend fixtures. The Spireites would go onto pick up their seventh and eighth defeats of the league campaign.
