Sean Dyche is hopeful Vitalii Mykolenko will be available for Everton’s trip to face Newcastle United on Tuesday evening (7.30pm BST).

Mykolenko was absent for the Toffees on Saturday, when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth. The defender missed out through illness, with Ben Godfrey operating at left-back, while Seamus Coleman featured on the opposite side.

Speaking after the weekend’s game and quoted by the Liverpool World, Dyche said: "Ben stuck at it at left-back. Myko was ill, it was not an injury. He's likely to be through that over the weekend."

For team news elsewhere, Dyche was asked about Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, who appeared to be in discomfort when he was taken off in the second half of Saturday’s match.

Dyche believes the Belgium international should be available for selection, adding: "I think it was minor. I'll find out more but don't think it’s too serious."

Newcastle United will be without former Blue Anthony Gordon when they take on the Toffees.

Gordon, who joined the Magpies in 2023, was sent off in Newcastle’s 4-3 victory over West Ham United on Saturday.

Consequently, the 23-year-old must serve a one-match suspension and is therefore unavailable to face Everton.

Quoted by the Liverpool World, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: "That's a huge blow for us, it sort of summed up the day, really. Another absentee. A big blow for us, especially for him personally with the game it was but Harvey (Barnes) and Elliot (Anderson) have come on the pitch and done really well so at least we have players in form."

Meanwhile, Newcastle trio Jamaal Lascelles, Timo Livramento and Miguel Almiron could also miss the game after they were forced off injured in the West Ham win.
