Gana And Danjuma Fitness Updates

Idrissa Gana Gueye is an injury doubt for Everton's clash with Manchester United this weekend.

The Blues head to Old Trafford for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off (12.30pm GMT), looking to bounce back after a frustrating defeat to West Ham United last time out.

Speaking in Thursday's pre-match press conference, manager Sean Dyche revealed midfielder Gana, who missed last weekend's visit of the Hammers with a groin injury sustained in the 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion, is "unlikely - but has a chance" to return against Erik ten Hag's side.

Arnaut Danjuma will not be available but continues to make positive progress from ankle ligament damage suffered against Fulham in late January.

"Arnie continues to make progress but is not there yet. Gana will be unlikely - but has a chance, I'd say," said Dyche.

"There are a few [other] knocks and bruises but everyone [else] should be alright."

On Danjuma and the possibility of having him available again after a 21-day gap between games after the trip to Manchester United, Dyche said: "There is a chance, definitely. He's doing very well, he's working very hard. He's pleased with how it's going as well, which is always a good sign when the player feels right. So, yes, we're hopeful but we'll see."

Discussing the impact of Danjuma following his arrival on loan last summer, Dyche added: "We spoke when we brought him in as staff, we think he can be flexible and finding the right game time, finding the habit forming that we want for the team has been a challenge for him but I think he's doing that well.

"Just before I thought he was really good down at Fulham and then he gets injured. Ironically, he was just about to come off, which is one of those things.

"An injury that looked quite innocuous has ended up being quite a serious injury.

"He's firmly fixed on getting fit. He wants to bit the fitness targets - he's made that very clear to me and he's working very hard."

Dele remains sidelined with a long-term groin injury.

Dyche also revealed Everton will complete a "working trip" away from Finch Farm at a European destination next week.
