Branthwaite Hails Everton's Never-Say-Die Approach

Jarrad - well done. A point gained and it might feel like three with the way you got it?

JB: Thank you and and, yes, it's a massive result for us. After going down early in the game, I think we showed real team mentality to get back into it and then again after going behind again. That's what we've done this season - we're fighting right until the end of these games and giving ourselves the best possible chance of picking up points.

Two more goals from set pieces. How much is that something you work on?

JB: Yes, it's massive if you can look after both boxes well and you're good on set pieces then you've got a real chance. I think you can see a lot of our goals this season have come from set pieces and it's something we work on a lot. We just need to keep developing that as a team because it brings us chances.

For your goal - was it just a case of following in all the way?

Yes, I was just around the back post. It's something we do work on - we've got to have people in every position to score... I was at the back post and, luckily, it fell to me and I've put it in.

For a goalscorer, what is that wait like for the VAR check? Especially when it's a goal of that magnitude...

JB: It's not nice! You set off with a big celebration then you've got to wait two or three minutes for the check but it's part of the game now, I suppose, and if it gets the right outcome then it's not a problem. Luckily for us, we were on the right side of it today.

That was your second Everton goal. How important do you think it could be in terms of belief and a springboard?

JB: I think it gives us a positive looking going into next weekend, which is another big game against Man City. There's a positivity in the camp. We go into every game knowing we can get a result - we know [Manchester City] are a top side but we've got full belief.

Is today a lesson the importance of keeping going until the end as well?

JB: Definitely. The manager has instilled that in us. I think you saw at Fulham in the week that we kept going, creating chances right until the end. We did that again today and we got our reward.
