Mason Holgate’s season-long loan to Southampton has been mutually terminated, with the defender agreeing to join Sheffield United for the remainder of the campaign. 

The 27-year-old defender - who has made 149 appearances during eight years with the Blues - featured in seven matches for the Saints this season. 

Holgate will now spend the second half of 2023/24 in the Premier League with the Blades, having previously also enjoyed a successful loan spell in the second half of the 2018/19 season with West Bromwich Albion in the Championship.
