The barrel cladding that will wrap around the roof of Everton Stadium has been revealed for the first time. 

Work on the Club’s new home has continued in spectacular style throughout 2023, with one more year remaining on the project ahead of its scheduled completion in December 2024. 

And following the completion of roof steelwork and the ongoing installation of outer roof sections to form a watertight outer shell, planning is under way to clad the remaining roof space with innovative curved steel sections. 

The first of those arrived on site just ahead of the Christmas shutdown, where a successful engineering safety trial was initiated to assess the impact of wind on the perforated sections. 

The six-piece section was lifted onto a mechanical crane attachment to manipulate the panels into various positions. The crane will be used again next year, to assist with the installation on the curved edges across the length of the east and west stands.
