Matchday Guide: Everton v Newcastle

Supporter Information: Everton v Newcastle United

Please see below key information for fans attending Thursday’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle United at Goodison Park (kick-off 7.30pm GMT).

EVERTON TO MARK 10 YEARS OF STONEWALL’S RAINBOW LACES CAMPAIGN

Everton will again join football clubs across the country in celebrating Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign and demonstrate its ongoing support for LGBTQ+ inclusion when Newcastle United visit Goodison Park on Thursday.

The Club is proud of its equity and inclusion work that takes place year-round and, as we did for Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest, will use our platforms and matchday to encourage discussion and demonstrate allyship.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Rainbow Laces, with 2023’s theme ‘Let’s Lace Up to Keep It Up’ reflecting on how sport has become more inclusive over the past decade, while also highlighting the need for ongoing work to ensure sport is a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Rainbow armbands will be worn by both captains and Rainbow Laces branding will be widely visible within the stadium and across Club channels.

To find out more about the Rainbow Laces campaign, visit stonewall.org.uk/rainbowlaces

Supporters can see the recently launched Respect, Celebrate, Empower clothing range, which includes hoodies, T-shirts, sweatshirts and joggers in various colours, in person and try them on for size. All net profits from the range will be donated to Everton in the Community.

With Christmas just around the corner, the match is also a great opportunity to buy other great Everton gifts for your friends and family ahead of the big day.

Alternatively, Blues can shop online at evertondirect.com.

ARRIVE AT GOODISON IN GOOD TIME

PLEASE NOTE - This fixture will kick off at the slightly earlier time at 7.30pm. To help ease any congestion upon entry to the stadium, the following advice has been issued for this and future Goodison Park fixtures:

▪ Fans should use the correct turnstile as indicated on your match ticket, season or digital card.

▪ Season cards, digital or plastic, can either be read by inserting under the reader OR by being placed on top of the reader.

▪ Paper match tickets with barcodes need to be placed under the reader, facing upright.

▪ Print-at-home tickets will be scanned in the same way as match tickets. Do not shrink them in size, print them on coloured paper or allow them to be of a poor-quality print.

SUPPORTERS’ CODE OF CONDUCT / REPORTING DISCRIMINATION / SAFEGUARDING

Everton Football Club has a strict, zero tolerance approach to all incidents of discrimination and disorder.

We remind supporters that all perpetrators of public order offences, which includes racist or discriminatory behaviour, pitch encroachment and the throwing of objects (including paper or cards) and/or the use of any form of pyrotechnics (including smoke grenades, smoke bombs/canisters and flares) will receive lengthy stadium bans, potential police investigation and further possible legal sanctions.

Flags must not contain anything considered to be offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, or inflammatory, including politically motivated or nationalistic messaging. In line with Premier League guidance, supporters are advised that Israeli or Palestinian flags will not be permitted to be displayed at fixtures for the foreseeable future.

The Club has reaffirmed its commitment to the Premier League, FA and EFL’s collective stance in tackling anti-social and criminal behaviour at football matches and is required to work with the authorities to identify any individuals who take part in unacceptable behaviour.

If you witness any form of unsavoury or anti-social behaviour, harassment or discrimination at a match, please report it.

This can be done by speaking to a Club steward, a police officer or Everton’s dedicated confidential reporting lines. Supporters can report any incidents to the Stadium Safety Team immediately by texting HELP and details of what has been witnessed and where to 84300, or by emailing reportit@evertonfc.com
