Loan Watch: Mixed Weekend For Blues

It was another busy weekend of football with many of our Everton loanees in action for their temporary clubs. Here is an overview of how some of our players performed in this week’s Loan Watch... 

Stanley Mills - Oxford United   
Opponent: Leyton Orient (A)    
Competition: League One  
Date: Saturday 28 October    
Result: 3-2 win
Overview: Mills made his second successive league start for Oxford as they secured an impressive 3-2 win at Leyton Orient. 

The U’s stormed into a 3-0 lead inside 47 minutes but their hosts hit back with two goals to set up a nervous final 25 minutes. Mills was substituted in the 68th minute as manager Liam Manning made defensive changes in order to protect the lead. 


Reece Welch - Forest Green
 
Opponent: Tranmere (A)    
Competition: League Two   
Date: Saturday 11 November    
Result: 3-0 defeat   
Overview: Welch once again started and played a full 90 minutes for Forest Green but they were downed 3-0 by Everton’s Merseyside neighbours Tranmere.

Harry Tyrer - Chesterfield    
Opponent: Barnet (H)
Competition: National League   
Date: Saturday 11 November   
Result: 4-2 win
Overview: Tyrer, an ever-present in between the sticks now at Chesterfield, helped his side secure an important 4-2 win over Barnet which put them five points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand.

Neal Maupay - Brentford 
Opponent: Liverpool (A) 
Competition: Premier League
Date: Sunday 12 November    
Result: 3-0 defeat
Overview: Maupay has been in solid attacking form for the Bees with two assists and a goal across his previous three matches before Sunday’s clash against Liverpool.

The Frenchman started the game as a substitute and joined the action with just under 20 minutes remaining as Brentford fell to a 3-0 defeat. 


Zan-Luk Leban - Farsley Celtic

Opponent: Buxton (A)
Competition: National League North
Date: Saturday 11 November
Result: 2-1 win
Overview: Goalkeeper Leban put in a solid display for Farsley to help them bounce back from going a goal behind to win 2-1. After no win in four, Leban's temporary side has now secured victories in each of their last two outings. 

Lewis Warrington - Plymouth Argyle  
Opponent: Leeds United (A)   
Competition: Championship   
Date: Saturday 11 November    
Result: 2-1 defeat  
Overview: Warrington was an unused substitute as Plymouth fell to a narrow defeat against promotion-chasing Leeds.
