Harrison Ranks Stunning Maiden Blues Goal

Jack, a first Premier League start for Everton and a first Premier League goal for Everton. How did that feel?

It's been a long time that I was out recovering from my injury so I've been working really hard and the staff here have helped me to get to this position now and give me this opportunity. I'm grateful to the staff and to be back out on the pitch, starting again. It was a great result for us today and hopefully we can take this success and take it into the next game after the international break.

You've scored plenty of goals over your career so far but that one was fantastic. Where does it rank for you?

It's definitely up there. It's a special moment coming here and scoring my first goal in front of the home crowd, who were incredible today. The atmosphere was amazing. Even after Jimmy's goal I was a bit surprised by the noise that they made. I was really happy to get off the mark and hopefully there will be more this season.

How hard was it to execute that technique for the goal?

I saw the keeper off his line a little bit so I thought if I can try and get it over him. I try not to think about it too much and that's usually when the best things happen, when I don't over-think it. Luckily for me it went in and we were able to go from there.

It's a first win in five games at home but has it felt like this performance and result had been coming?

Absolutely. I think when you look at everyone's individual performances and the way we worked for each other - on and off the ball - it was the epitome of the way we want to play. We've been pushing for that since the start of the season. I know I've been out for a bit and come in late, but the team have worked really hard to get to this point now and I think it's something we can build on.

We've got two away games up next after the international break - against Liverpool and West Ham. How much of a platform does this give us?

Exactly. We just have to keep taking it game by game. We have a little break now with the international break but we have to come back and be ready to go. It's two very difficult games but we want to be at our best.
