Gabby George has left Everton after nearly 10 years with the Club to complete a permanent move to Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The England international joined the Blues from Manchester United’s Centre of Excellence ahead of the 2014 FA WSL season, the defender making her league debut in April 2014 against Notts County.
Later that season, George played in the FA Women’s Cup final against Arsenal at the age of 17.
George became Everton Women’s first-ever player to sign a professional contract in summer 2017 and would go on to make 101 top-flight league appearances for the Toffees.
Her 100th Women’s Super League outing saw the 26-year-old captain the Blues in front of a record crowd at Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby, capping that honour by scoring the opening goal in the 1-1 draw in March 2023.
On leaving Everton after nearly a decade on Merseyside, George said: “I would like to thank everyone at Everton for my incredible and special time at the Club.
“I joined as a teenager. Since then, I have played alongside world-class players, made friends for life, and played in some truly special occasions for this football club.
“I wouldn’t be the player and person I am today if it wasn’t for Everton. I will always be incredibly grateful for that.
“From every manager I have worked with, the players I have played alongside, the brilliant staff who work relentlessly behind the scenes, thank you.
“Everton will always hold a special place in my heart. I wish the Club and the outstanding supporters the very best for this season and beyond.”
