Stadium Bowl Takes Shape

Work has recommenced at Everton Stadium, with major changes taking place in the past two weeks.

A highly-visual development is the installation of all concrete terracing in the lower tier of the north stand.

With the upper tier installed at an earlier date, this means the north stand is now the first to be completed, ahead of imminent seat installations.

The seat carrier system, which will eventually support 52,888 blue seats, is being bolted to the terracing in anticipation of this first splash of colour, while hand rails have begun to be installed on the adjacent steps.

The lower stand terracing in the south stand has commenced, and will soon offer a full view of the raking, one-tier stand that will eventually house over 13,000 passionate Evertonians.

Work continues to complete the steel roofing structures, with the west stand now complete and the east stand close behind.

South stand roof coverings have commenced, while the highly visual milestone of rolling out the 170m-long top sheeting atop the north stand will commence next week. This procedure involves a container being hung by a crane at roof level, from which the standing seem sheeting is rolled across the length of the roof.

Externally, the first granite flags for external hard landscaping have been delivered to site. Paving is expected to begin this week in the north east corner of the stadium site.
