Tarkowksi Fit For Fulham Opener

James Tarkowski has been declared fit and available for Everton's 2023/24 Premier League opener against Fulham.

The Blues host Marco Silva's side at Goodison Park on Saturday (3pm BST), with Tarkowski, who was substituted late on after suffering a knock in the 1-0 win over Sporting CP last weekend, ready to play having resumed full training this week.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Sean Dyche also revealed Tarkowski is set to be the Everton's vice captain for the forthcoming season, when Club captain Seamus Coleman is unavailable.

Arnaut Danjuma, who sat out last weekend's final pre-season fixture with a minor injury, has also returned to training this week.

A late decision will be made on the inclusion of Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the matchday squad, with Dyche explaining the Blues striker still "needs game time" as he bids to rediscover peak condition but is "fit and well".

Dwight McNeil is set to be out for "weeks not days" with an ankle ligament injury sustained in the pre-season friendly victory at Stoke City, but Dyche, who pointed towards McNeil's impressive fitness record, is hopeful of a recovery on the quicker side of medical estimates.

Coleman, continuing his rehabilitation from a knee injury, and Dele, who has suffered a setback in his recovery from surgery over the summer, will not be available for the visit of Fulham.
