Today marks one year since Everton completed the signing of Dwight McNeil, who joined for an undisclosed fee from Burnley.
The 23-year-old penned a contract until the end of June 2027, having spent four years as a professional at Turf Moor, during which time he made more than 140 appearances.
Since his arrival, the winger overcame a slow start to become one of Everton’s most consistent and dangerous attackers.
Here, we take a numerical journey through a productive first 12 months at the Club...
10 – McNeil led all Everton players in the Premier League last season for goal involvements with 10.
2501 – That was his best-ever Premier League return, despite having played more minutes in each of the last three seasons than he did in the previous campaign.
1608 – However, after Sean Dyche’s arrival, only James Tarkowski played more minutes than the attacker.
15.2% - McNeil had the best shot conversion rate of any Everton player who attempted 25 or more shots.
56 – Only Alex Iwobi completed more successful Premier League dribbles than the 23-year-old last season.
105 – While only Demarai Gray completed more progressive carries than McNeil.
41 – In terms of tackles won, McNeil’s total of 41 could only be bettered by midfield duo Idrissa Gana Gueye and Amadou Onana – although no player managed more in the attacking third (15).
6.1 - No Everton player accumulated a higher Expected Assist (xA) total than McNeil or shot-creating actions per 90 (3.89).
