Young's Everton Shirt Number

Ashley Young will wear Everton’s number 18 shirt this season after completing his transfer to the Toffees and signing a one-year contract.

The defender previously wore the number for Manchester United, where he played from 2011 until 2020 and made 192 appearances, winning several honours including the 2012/13 Premier League, 2015/16 FA Cup, 2016/17 League Cup and 2016/17 UEFA Europa League.

Young also wore the number 18 during his second stint at Aston Villa, where he spent two years before joining the Blues this summer.

During his first spell at the Midlands club, Young twice featured in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year between 2007 and 2009.

On the continent, Young wore the number 15 shirt during 18 months at Inter Milan between 2020 and 2021, helping the Nerazzurri towards a Serie A title, as well as progressing to a Europa League final.

He signs for the Toffees after earning 39 England caps and making 422 Premier League appearances – the 32nd most in the competition’s history.
