After Everton fought back to earn a point against Wolves on Saturday, Sean Dyche believes his side sent a message to rescue a result.

Yerry Mina’s 99th-minute equaliser secured a draw for the Toffees, and as quoted by the Liverpool ECHO, Dyche praised his players for their resilient efforts.

“You have to keep going,” said Dyche. “It gives us a strong feel of the group, the nature of the group, the energy in the group and the belief in the group, and of course it sends another message: ‘We’re alive. We’re ready. We are taking it on'. I think that is important.

“I remind the players that there are a lot of good players here and they are seeing through the challenges which I have spoken to them at length about.

“I tell them to see through all the noise, forget about that, look at what is around us, the group of players we have got. I was pleased for them (at Wolves). A point doesn’t sound a lot at this stage, but it is.”

Explaining the importance of the players being able to deliver his instructions, the Everton manager complimented James Garner for his acceptance to operate in any role.

“Their performance and their will and demand - they are important factors,” added Dyche. “It’s not always about tactics.

“I hear managers wax lyrical about that, but all managers make tactical changes. It is the delivery of it: can they deliver the tactics?

“I was mostly pleased that whenever we changed because there was no question. Jimmy Garner was just a great advert for that: ‘Yes, what do I need to do?’

“Work hard, play hard, try to affect the game. I am just picking him out, but there were a few like that.”

After the match, James Tarkowski spoke about Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who limped off with an injury before half-time.

The defender praised the hard work of his teammate, while wishing him well in his recovery.

"I feel for him,” said Tarkowski, quoted by the Liverpool ECHO. “He works ever so hard, looks after himself, does everything he can to stay fit and keep on the pitch.

"He just needs to get himself right because he is a top, top player and he is such a big player for us, but we just need him fit, and on the pitch as much as possible."
