Everton Prospect Named In Team Of The Season

Goalkeeper Harry Tyrer has been named in the Vanarama National League North Team of the Season 2022/23.

The 21-year-old signed for Chester on loan last summer and immediately impressed, subsequently nailing down the No.1 spot for the Seals heading into the new campaign.

He remained Chester’s chief shot-stopper for the entirety of the season, recording 21 clean sheets in 55 appearances across all competitions. He also played a prominent role in helping Calum McIntyre’s side secure a top-three finish and play-off place.

Although the season ended in collective disappointment as Chester fell to a 1-0 defeat against Brackley Town in the play-off semi-final, Tyrer’s own strong individual performances were recognised with his selection within the league's Team of the Season.

Crosby-born Tyrer joined Everton at the age of seven. He penned a new deal with the Blues in January 2022, keeping him at the Club until at least the summer of 2025.

With his impressive loan spell now concluded, the boyhood Evertonian is set to return to Finch Farm this summer to re-join Paul Tait’s Under-21 side for pre-season.
