Beaumont-Clark Nets Brace In Under-18s Victory

On Saturday afternoon, Everton Under-18s earned a 3-0 win over Stoke City Under-18s at Finch Farm.

Owen Barker’s first-half goal put the Toffees into an early lead, before two Jacob Beaumont-Clark second-half strikes took the game out of reach for the visitors.

The victory propels the young Blues to 5th place in the Under-18s Premier League North table, and they have just two fixtures remaining.

Stoke threatened early on, hitting the woodwork in the opening stages, as well as having a goal ruled out for offside.

Despite the early pressure, it was Everton who took the lead in the 19th minute. A cross from Jacob Beaumont-Clark caused a rebound in the penalty area. Owen Barker pounced on to the loose ball and struck the Blues into a 1-0 lead.

After a push in the box in the 25th minute, Stoke were given a penalty. However, Adam Watson was unable to convert from the spot after Sebastian Jensen saved the bottom-left attempt.

Following an eventful and highly competitive first half, Everton led 1-0 going into the second 45 minutes.

The beginning of the restart followed a similar fashion with both teams each having good chances, however, neither were able to convert.

Then, in the 66th minute, Martin Sherif was taken out which resulted in a free-kick on the edge of the area. Jacob Beaumont-Clark stepped up and scored brilliantly to double Everton’s advantage.

The Toffees then added a third as Beaumont-Clark scored his second of the game in the 83rd minute. It was another impressive finish as he curled the ball into the top corner from inside the penalty area.

Stoke responded, and attacked aggressively, however, Everton remained strong at the back, defending resiliently to keep the clean sheet.

The match finished at 3-0 and the three points take Everton to 5th in the league table.

The young Blues' next game sees them travel to play Manchester United on Tuesday 2 May (7pm BST) at the Trafford Training Centre.
