Bennison: Reading Win Showed Our Belief

Hanna Bennison praised Everton’s character following Sunday’s 3-2 comeback win over Reading.

The Sweden midfielder made her 50th Blues appearance over the weekend and got her side back in the game by capping a well-worked move.

The 20-year-old continues to evolve in Royal Blue and mature as a versatile player for Brian Sorensen’s side.

“I’m feeling great,” she told evertontv.

“Of course, it’s always nice to win and have a good team performance.

“It was a good team performance to turn the game around. It’s a very important win for us.

“We showed great character.

“It was important to get in a goal in before half time and to get the energy to keep going.

“That belief shows that we are capable of anything. It’s really nice to have that good feeling walking off the pitch.”

A player known for her flair, Bennison continues to strengthen the defensive side of her game and says she isn’t afraid to get stuck in.

“It was nice to play but also show the dirtier side to my game,” Bennison said.

“I like that side of the game, the tackles, and things like that. I’m glad I was able to show that against Reading.”

After a week of back-to-back away trips, the women’s side now face a rest before hitting the road again next weekend to face reigning WSL champions, Chelsea.

Until then, it’s business as usual for Bennison and her peers.

“Of course, you always want to play games but it’s nice to have a rest,” she added.

“Until then, we keep on training, working hard and be prepared for Chelsea.”
