McAllister Signs New Everton Contract

Everton Under-21s midfielder Sean McAllister has signed a new contract, keeping him at the Club until the end of June 2024.

The 20-year-old Northern Irishman joined the Blues from Dungannon Swifts in the summer of 2019 and has developed from a budding Under-18 prospect to a key player in Paul Tait's Under-21s side.

A well-rounded midfielder who can play a number of different roles, McAllister has made 14 Premier League 2 appearances this season, plus a further two in the EFL Cup, registering three goals and seven assists.

"I’m feeling great," he told evertontv after putting pen to paper on his new deal. "It’s a pleasure to sign. I have loved life at the Club since I arrived and I have been made to feel very welcome."

After returning from injury in February, McAllister has been a mainstay in Tait's first XI, starting each of Everton Under-21s' past six matches and being handed the captain's armband twice.

On signing, he was keen to commend Head Coach Tait and his staff for the role they have played in his development.

"Taity's been brilliant with me since I arrived," added McAllister. "I had him as my Under-18s coach and in the second year he made me captain. That’s something he has done again with the Under-21s across recent games. It’s great to be working under him."

McAllister's hard work has not only been rewarded with a new contract but he's also been presented with opportunities to train with the Men's Senior Team.

The young talent admits he's hoping to enjoy more chances like that in the coming weeks and months as he embarks on the next stage of his Everton journey.

"I have trained a few times with the senior side, and I hope to get a few more in. But I want to keep impressing with the Under-21s and maybe get a loan deal if one comes, too."
