Pickford Keeps Clean Sheet As Price Makes Debut

There was plenty of international action for Everton's players across the weekend.

Jordan Pickford earned a clean sheet for England in their home victory over Vitalii Mykolenko's Ukraine, while Nathan Patterson played for Scotland, and Isaac Price earned his second cap for Northern Ireland.

Pickford played every minute for England on Sunday evening at Wembley, helping the Three Lions towards a 2-0 win and another three points in their UEFA European Championships qualifying campaign.

Meanwhile, Mykolenko started at left-back for the visitors before being replaced on 62 minutes by Eduard Sobol.

It was Pickford's 52nd international cap and 25th clean sheet for England in what was a quiet evening for the Everton keeper. Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka scored first-half goals before Gareth Southgate’s team cruised to victory in the second 45 minutes.

Also on Sunday, Northern Ireland suffered a 1-0 defeat to Finland in their UEFA European Championship qualifier at Windsor Park.

However, it was a proud moment for Everton youngster Isaac Price as he came off the bench with 11 minutes remaining to earn his second senior international cap, just days after making his bow in a 2-0 away win against San Marino.

On Saturday afternoon, Nathan Patterson played for Scotland in their dominant 3-0 victory over Cyprus at Hampden Park.

At 1-0, the Everton right-back was substituted on in the 80th minute, before Manchester United’s Scott McTominay scored a late double to seal the three points.

Meanwhile, James Garner helped England Under-21s towards an impressive 4-0 triumph over France Under-21s at the King Power Stadium.

At 1-0, manager Lee Carsley made a host of second-half changes, which included the Blues midfielder replacing Morgan Gibbs-White on 72 minutes.

Elsewhere, Ishe Samuels-Smith played the full match for England Under-17s in their 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland Under-17s.

Martin Sherif featured in the second half for Netherlands Under-17s in their 2-2 draw with Denmark Under-17s.

And George Morgan started for Wales Under-17s in their 1-1 draw with Iceland Under-17s.
