Garner & Branthwaite Receive England Under-21 Calls

Everton's James Garner and Jarrad Branthwaite have been called up to England's Under-21 squad for their pair of international matches this month.

Lee Carsley's young Lions will face France on Saturday 25 March (5pm GMT) before playing Croatia three days later on Tuesday 28 March (7.45pm GMT).

Midfielder Garner joined the Toffees in the summer from Manchester United but hasn't featured for the First Team since an EFL Cup clash against Bournemouth in October.

He's recovered from the lower back injury that kept him sidelined during that time and has made Sean Dyche's matchday squad in each of their last two fixtures.

Garner has featured on seven occasions for England's Under-21 side, most recently in September when he started in the Three Lions' 3-1 victory over Germany.

Branthwaite, meanwhile, is enjoying a fine season on loan with Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven, recently establishing himself as a regular starter under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.

He has made 19 appearances for PSV so far this campaign, scoring two goals, and will be looking to make his first outing at England Under-21 level, having previously featured twice for the Under-20s.
