Everton And hummel Surprise Young Skyla

Everton’s Izzy Christiansen and Jess Park have surprised a 10-year-old fan by telling her she has been gifted a special experience for the upcoming Barclays Women’s Super League Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Thanks to the Club’s technical partner hummel, Skyla and her family will have executive seating for the match and her family will receive items from hummel’s product range.

The youngster will also have the opportunity to carry the match ball onto the pitch alongside the referee as the teams emerge from the tunnel ahead of kick-off.

After receiving match tickets through Everton’s School Supporters’ Club scheme earlier this season, Skyla grew an affection for the team and has been to every home fixture at Walton Hall Park since.

Park, Skyla’s favourite Everton player, and Christiansen visited Skyla’s school, St Mary and St Paul’s CE Primary in Prescot, to give her the good news.

As part of the School Supporters’ Club visit, both players took part in a group PE session and gifted the rest of the Year 5 class goody bags and complimentary tickets to the BWSL game against Liverpool.

After receiving her surprise Skyla, who’d love to play for Everton Women in the future, said: “It’s been amazing to follow the team and watch people like me play this season.

“I’m really excited to walk out onto the pitch with the referee and players, and to watch the game from a box with my family will be extra special, too.”

Skyla’s father Kevin commented: “As soon as she went to an Everton Women game, she fell completely in love with the team, and she adores everything about the matchday experience.

“Sky’s really shy and when she went for the first time, Jess Park came over and spent quite a lot of time with her. That meant so much to us and I hope that the players know how much of an impact they have on little girls’ lives.

“I don’t think it’s quite hit Sky just how big of an opportunity this is, but I'm sure it will eventually. She’s speechless and so happy, and we can’t thank hummel and Everton enough.”

Allan Vad Nielsen, hummel CEO, added: “We live for the fans and to be able to give this experience to one of Everton Women’s most passionate fans makes us incredibly happy.

“It is an honour to facilitate such an unforgettable experience for Skyla and her family to cheer on their team at Goodison Park, and we hope the evening will be something that they cherish for a long time.”
