Blues Team News For Arsenal Trip

Sean Dyche has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Wednesday's clash with Arsenal, but has confirmed Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not be available for the midweek trip to the capital.

The Blues head to the Emirates Stadium looking to replicate a similar performance that earned the Blues a 1-0 home win over the Gunners in Dyche's first game in charge earlier this month.

Calvert-Lewin, who has been sidelined since being withdrawn late on during that victory over Mikel Arteta's side, is continuing to build his fitness at Finch Farm.

Speaking in Monday's pre-match press conference, Dyche says he has not put a timescale on the striker's return.

James Garner, who Dyche says is getting "fitter and stronger" having returned to training last week following a back injury, is set to play in a behind-closed-doors game this week, with the manager expecting the midfielder to then be available for selection if he comes through unscathed.

"They’ve [Garner and Patterson] been out a while, and they both need games," revealed the Everton boss. "Jimmy is going well, he is getting fitter and stronger. There’s another [Under-21] game this week, so I will try and get him in that one.

"Then you are saying after three months out you should be classed as being fit if, but he’s going well."

Nathan Patterson (knee) and Andros Townsend (ACL) remain sidelined, with Scotland international Patterson expected back early next month.

Dyche added: "Patto is just a bit behind (Garner), he will need a bit more."
