Paul Tait's Everton Under-21s suffered defeat on Saturday as they were condemned to a 5-0 loss to Manchester City.

However, a stroke of misfortune saw Elijah Campbell's final touch arrive into his own net on 58 minutes.

City had a third four minutes later as Carlos Borges' volley went into the Everton net.

A fourth followed on 65 minutes. Will Dickson the scorer.

The league leaders' final goal of the afternoon came in stoppage time as Josh Adam slotted home.

The Under-21s return to action on Thursday night (7pm GMT) when they host PSV Eindhoven at Goodison Park in the Premier League International Cup.
