A period of applause took place ahead of Everton's Premier League fixture with Leeds United at Goodison Park on Saturday to remember Christian Atsu, who was found dead following the devastating earthquake in Turkey earlier this month.

Everton's players also wore black armbands for the clash with the West Yorkshire side.

Atsu, who won 65 caps for Ghana, made 13 appearances for the Blues during a loan spell in 2014/15.

Our thoughts are with Christian's family, friends, colleagues at Turkish outfit Hatayspor and everyone affected by this tragic event that has claimed so many lives.
