Dyche Reveals Merseyside Derby Team News

Sean Dyche says Dominic Calvert-Lewin is "touch and go, at best" for Everton's clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Monday night (8pm GMT).

The striker was withdrawn just after the hour mark during the Blues' excellent 1-0 win over league leaders Arsenal last weekend, with manager Dyche later revealing it was a precautionary move following a hamstring concern.

The 25-year-old has been absent from training so far this week ahead of the 242nd Merseyside derby.

"We're still monitoring him," said Dyche in his pre-match press conference. "It will be touch and go, at best, I think for the Liverpool game.

"We'll just have to monitor it and hope that it settles down sooner rather than later.

"He's had a couple of niggling injuries which you'll know. [We're trying to get] on top of them, getting his body to adapt and all of those things for the longer term.

"He put a real shift in [against Arsenal]. His stats were very good but unfortunately he's just got a niggly hamstring and we've got to get on top of it as quick as we can."

The Toffees have been handed a double fitness boost heading into the local showdown, though, with James Garner and Ben Godfrey back in full training after recovering from back and knee injuries respectively.

Nathan Patterson, meanwhile, is back on the grass completing individual work as his rehabilitation from a medial knee problem steps up.

Andros Townsend (ACL) remains unavailable.
