Everton’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Liverpool on Friday 24 March will now take place at Goodison Park.
It will be the first time a WSL fixture between the two sides has been hosted at the stadium.
The Blues are aiming to do the league double over their Merseyside rivals after producing a dominant 3-0 victory in the reverse meeting in September.
Megan Finnigan, Jess Park and Hanna Bennison all found the net that day as the Blues were roared on by a sold-out away end at Anfield.
Brian Sorensen’s team have won their last two home league matches at Walton Hall Park, scoring three goals against both Reading (3-2) and West Ham United (3-0).
This will be the third time in three years the women’s senior team has played at Goodison. In September 2020, Everton came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 in the Vitality FA Women’s Cup behind closed doors.
The Blues then welcomed Manchester City to L4 a year later.
The Merseyside derby was scheduled to take place at Goodison in 2020 but was postponed due to adverse weather and the season later curtailed due to Covid-19 without the fixture having been played.
The upcoming meeting between the two teams is scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm (GMT) on Friday 24 March.
Tickets are on sale priced at £8 for adults, £4 for under-18s and £4 for over-65s.
This historic fixture promises to be a fantastic family day out and a great opportunity for young Blues to experience a matchday at Goodison Park.
