Dwight McNeil says he feels at home with Everton and is confident the squad can turn their fortunes in their favour over the course of the second half of the season.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the winger reflected on his first months as a Blue.

"At first I think I struggled a little bit and I found it pretty difficult to settle in," he told the local newspaper.

"I only knew one or two of the players, but over time I have settled in more now and I’m enjoying it.

"I go in every day and I come back home enjoying it. Like I say, at first it was a struggle as you don’t really talk or know anyone, but now everyone makes you feel welcome.

"In my eyes it makes you more comfortable and relaxed and it feels like you can express yourself more around the lads.

"The lads have more trust in yourself. It is good and now it is important, especially at this point in the season, we know points need to be picked up.

"If we don’t get the points there is another game coming fast. We just want to get on a good run and pick up as many points as we can going into the second-half of the season. We want to get in a strong position where we think we should be."

In transfer news, The Athletic claims Everton will consider allowing Mason Holgate to leave on loan during the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old, who has played in five matches so far this season, is the subject of interest from a number of clubs.
