The article claims the new deal is to reward the Everton Academy graduate for a breakout year in Royal Blue, but to also show their faith in the youngster that he can reach his full potential at Goodison Park.

The same source claims the Blues will be active in January and are looking to recruit at least one attacking player.

On the upcoming transfer window, the Liverpool ECHO reports the Club will put "significant" emphasis on sales as they listen to offers for several players.

It is added that manager Frank Lampard and director of football Kevin Thelwell have already discussed potential targets to pursue in the New Year.
