Sheriff Strike Earns Under-18s Draw

Everton Under-18s continued their solid recent form with a 1-1 draw away to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Leighton Baines’ team were back in action following their comprehensive 3-0 victory over Reading at Goodison Park last Friday in the FA Youth Cup.

The young Blues very much picked up from where they’d left off and took the lead through Martin Sheriff before half-time as the high-flying forward grabbed his fourth league goal in as many appearances.

Baines’ men looked to have the three points sealed but a late strike from Ronnie McGrath for the hosts meant Everton were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

The result leaves Everton fifth in the Under-18 Premier League North table heading into the Christmas break.

They return to action on 7 January 12:30pm (GMT) when they welcome Middlesbrough to Finch Farm.
