Onana's Belgium Slip To World Cup Defeat

Amadou Onana played 60 minutes before Belgium slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Morocco in Group F of the 2022 World Cup.

Despite the shock result, qualification to the knockout stages remains a possibility for the Red Devils - but Onana will not be able to take part in their final group game against Croatia after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament.

Onana can count himself unfortunate to have picked up his second controversial booking in as many games, with Mexican referee César Ramos condemning the Blues midfielder to a one-match suspension.

Late goals by Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal saw Morocco snatch all three points at Al Thumama Stadium and leapfrog their opponents to top the group.

Belgium's all-important clash with Croatia takes place on Thursday 1 December (3pm kick-off), with Onana hopeful his side can secure a result to extend his maiden World Cup experience.
