Everton's Double Fitness Boost

Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gana Gueye are set to be available for Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth (3pm GMT) - but Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss out.

The Blues head back to the Vitality Stadium for the second time this week, looking to respond after Tuesday's disappointing Carabao Cup defeat.

Manager Frank Lampard made 11 changes to his side that started the previous league match for that clash, but Onana (ankle), Gana (quadriceps) and Calvert-Lewin were all unavailable.

The boss will have Onana and Gana available for selection on Saturday after the midfield duo resumed training this week.

Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, is set to use the six-week break from Premier League action to recover from knee, hamstring and shoulder issues, with a view to being available again for the Boxing Day visit of Wolves.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Lampard said: "[Onana and Gana] are fit. They've trained. As long as we don't have any issues in the next 24 hours, then they'll be available.

"[Calvert-Lewin] won't be involved. He's had a few bangs, to be fair to Dominic, that he's been playing with and we hope the break comes at a good time for him and we expect him back for Wolves on Boxing Day.

"The hamstring is a small injury, it's probably a 10-day injury, which is slightly irrelevant now.

"The shoulder was a whack he took against Newcastle - he dislocated it, then it went back in - and he then had a recurrence against Fulham. It's been strapped up a lot. That's something that was looked at by a specialist yesterday and doesn't need any surgery or anything like that.

"Then he still has the knee [problem], so he's been getting through with some issues.

"The knee is probably the most prominent injury that we want to get right. It's a similar injury to what he had before - it's been aggravated, so this period gives us time to get it right.

"Let's give him some credit because I think a lot of people take a view on players who get injuries and speculate behind the scenes, but there's a lad who dislocated his shoulder and I know there are a lot of people outside of football who do a lot braver things than what we do but Dominic is a lad who is dedicated to try to get on the pitch for his club and possibly his country."

Ben Godfrey, who last week returned to training after recovering from a fractured fibula sustained in the opening game of the season, will not be fit enough to feature.

Andros Townsend remains sidelined as he completes the latter stages of his rehabilitation from an ACL injury suffered in March.
