Calvert-Lewin Returns For Everton

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to make his first start of the season for tonight's Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park.

The Everton striker is one of two changes from Saturday's match against Tottenham Hotspur, with Anthony Gordon coming back into the starting XI following his one-match suspension.

Calvert-Lewin replaces Neal Maupay while Gordon starts ahead of Dwight McNeil, with Demarai Gray completing the Blues' front three.

England international Calvert-Lewin has come off the bench in Everton's past two encounters following a knee injury which ruled him out of the start of the campaign.

Manager Frank Lampard retains his midfield three of Idrissa Gana Gueye, Amadou Onana and Alex Iwobi, and the defence is once again formed of captain Seamus Coleman, James Tarkowski, Conor Coady and Vitalii Mykolenko - ahead of Jordan Pickford in goal.

Mason Holgate is named on the bench having fully recovered from the knee injury the defender sustained at Brentford at the end of August.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman (c), Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Gana, Onana, Iwobi, Gordon, Gray, Calvert-Lewin.

Subs: Begovic, Holgate, Keane, McNeil, Doucoure, Maupay, Vinagre, Davies, Garner.
