The Liverpool Echo reacts to the news last night of former Everton midfielder Fabian Delph confirming his retirement from football.

The 32-year-old spent three seasons on Merseyside after signing for the Club in 2019 from Manchester City, making 41 appearances in all competitions for the Blues.

In a statement issued from the Englishman, Delph said:  "I announce my retirement with nothing but happiness and gratitude for what this beautiful game has given me. Massive shout out to my family, friends, players and staff from the amazing clubs I have been fortunate enough to represent as well as the support I have had from the fans."

Liverpool World reports on the Everton squad's fitness ahead of this weekend's trip to Southampton.

The outlet believes Vitalii Mykolenko will be available after starting last night's encounter against Scotland in the Nations League.

The Blues full-back revealed he suffered a knock in Everton's 1-0 win over West Ham United.

Mykolenko had recovered to feature in Ukraine's 5-0 victory over Armenia before playing 90 minutes in his country's goalless draw on Tuesday night.

Amadou Onana is also expected to be available for selection this weekend.

Similar to Mykolenko, the midfielder met up with the Belgium squad carrying a minor issue he sustained against West Ham.

Having missed out on his nation's 2-1 win over Wales last week, the Belgian returned for a 75-minute display as Belgium lost 1-0 to the Netherlands on Sunday.

In transfer news, Football Insider reports that Everton have given Salomon Rondon the green light to find a new club in the January transfer window.

According to their sources, Rondon held talks with Adana Demirspor among multiple Turkish Super Lig clubs keen on signing him, but an agreement couldn't be met before the September deadline.
