Everton Line-Up Confirmed For Hammers

Idrissa Gana Gueye makes his first start since returning to Everton as manager Frank Lampard makes two changes for this afternoon's Premier League clash against West Ham United at Goodison Park (2.15pm GMT).

Gana, who re-joined the Blues on transfer deadline day at the start of this month, is named in midfield in place of Tom Davies, with Asmir Begovic replacing the injured Jordan Pickford in goal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin misses out on the matchday squad as a precaution after his knee injury, as Neal Maupay once again leads Everton's attack following his debut in the goalless Merseyside derby two weeks ago.

Conor Coady is named Everton captain in an unchanged defence that also features James Tarkowski, Nathan Patterson and Vitalii Mykolenko.

Gana is joined in midfield by Amadou Onana and Alex Iwobi, while Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray retain their places on the flanks of the attacking front three.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is among the substitutes after recovering from a hamstring injury, with Seamus Coleman and new goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic also on the bench.

On Calvert-Lewin's absence, Lampard said in his pre-match interview: "It was my choice with Dominic given the [injury] history and the international break we have coming up.

"It’s a chance for him to get even fitter after a slightly complicated injury. We have to be cautious with him rather than take a risk because we want him for the long-term so it was more of a precaution.

"I know everyone gets excited – I get asked questions about him every press conference - but, at the same time, we have to protect him a little bit so hopefully after the international break we’ll be seeing him."
